About Dan Nedelko
Due to the constant requests and questions I get such as:
«Do you really have a resume?»
I've decided to post my CV so you can have a look at what it is I have done and how I've gotten to doing what it is I do for a living.
Grab a coffee or tea, sit down and enjoy. Be careful not to spill your drink though since the reading of CV's can induce sleep.
Even though I am writing the chapter names of my autobiography I find profile pages somewhat annoying and self serving. However, you don't know me and I don't know you - so I'm willing to take a leap and tell you more about myself. This is a deal though, and I think it's fair that if I tell you about me then you should tell me about you.
My personal hero is Ari Gold:
Now having said that I also do not advertise my client list which is strictly managed through my company Honeypot Marketing. I will tell you this though:
- I have participated in a number of speaking engagements, seminars and training sessions. I don't do that all too much lately as things are far to busy (the old adage: those who can do, those who can't teach applies here)
- My work and my team's work has been profiled by numerous companies in the areas of internet marketing, web analytics and conversion optimization
- The client list is very solid and additionally we have helped our partners and clients achieve outstanding awards such as:

So here's my profile, nothing fancy all bullet points, sometime poorly written but very entertaining:
- My name is Dan Nedelko.
- I have a degree in Computer Science.
- I very much enjoy Internet Marketing.
- I enjoy surfing a whole lot more.
- If I won the lottery I would likely do nothing that required me to generate income, but I would do lots of stuff.
- I used to be involved in the Open Source Source software community quite heavily. Not so much in the last couple of years.
- I moved to Europe when I was 18 with $500 and lived in a few (more than a few) countries while over there. I strongly suggest that everyone do this.
- I (misguidedly - is that a word?) purchased a Japan Camera franchise for a ridiculously low price at the age of 21 with a friend of mine. I knew nothing about business - it suffices to say that I not only lost a friend but also had an interesting run in with business failure. I've neer learned so much in such a short period of time.
- I've read The Lord of the Rings 13 times.
- The best work (and most enjoyable work) I've ever done was when I worked in Quantum Well Laser Research Simulation at Wilfrid Laurier University with Dr.Marek Wartak. I miss those days.
- I went back to school at 25 and almost failed out miserably. I have to thank a couple of people, specifically Hart Bezner and my now (unfortunately) ex-girlfriend Michelle for sticking by me while I toughed it out through 4 years of school. Again one of the best times of my life.
- Every time in my life is in fact the best time of my life. Life is fun. So is stuff.
- I have two cats whom I love dearly. Hi Frodo. Hi Lilo.
- I never want to take myself too seriously.
- Technology is important, we live in a very interesting point in history. Technology is redefining evereything.
- Technology is pointless (although cool) unless it changes the way people live their lives. One cell phone is useless.
- People are social creatures. We thrive on community. Building Communities is singly the coolest thing I can think of doing for a living.
- I want to market to people because I believe firmly that marketing is a conversational process not a 'guerrilla' - 'covert' or tricky process. Plus I enjoy talking to people.
- Internet Marketing is extremely interesting. Strange things happen online, strange interesting wonderful things.
- If you visually map the internet it follow fractal patterns of growth, similar to how a snowflake or the branches of a tree grow. Amazing how that happens isn't it?
- Google Me and look around, it's fun.
Hopefully that gives you some idea about me, who I am and the experience I have both in terms of Software Engineering, Business and Personally.
If you're interested in having a look at my company Honeypot Marketing then by all means please feel free to visit and have a look around there as well.
