So you want to optimize for he big daddy, big evil 'er I mean do no evil of them all eh? Even though most of my industry is composed of snake oil salesmen, affiliate marketers and other interesting yet colorful characters there are some people who have a pretty intense technical and marketing background.
Over the years there are a few things one learns about the Search Engines, algorithms updates, data pushes, rollbacks, mistaken updates, and on and on.
Tip #1: Check Google Datacenters by IP
Data centers tend to fluctuate in their results so checking by data center IP addresses rather than by being redirected to the datacenter of Google's choice:
